The morning began with a skills session. Each team participated in a carousel of activities focussing on shooting, marking, defending, footwork and passing.
In the afternoon the skills were put to use in a tournament. 13 teams were split into 2 groups - League 1 and League 2. Each team played everyone in their group. There were some highly competitive matches demonstrating some great netball.
Waiting....
When all the games had been played our A team had won every game to go into the final. The B team played well and learnt a lot which will help them in the future.
And so to the final...
Roydon v Garboldisham. The game was fast and furious with end to end netball. Unfortunately Roydon got off to a bad start and were losing 2 - 0 within minutes. However, our captain, Ruby, gave lots of encouragement and gradually the team pulled back. In the last 5 minutes of the game there was some wonderful attacking and fantastic defending. Accurate shooting helped us gain some extra goals, making the final score 6 - 3 to Roydon. WELL DONE!
Well done to the A team and to all the Roydon girls who played well and demonstrated a competitive, but sporting nature.
The B Team with Sports Leader Elise.
The A Team with Sports Leader Chloe.
Thank you to Chloe and Elise ( both ex-Roydon pupils) for guiding us throughout the tournament and offering a lot of support and encouragement.
